Create a Yahoo! Avatar: Let us define it as a public Yahoo! Inc. service that displays personalized character images; further elaboration would rate them as personality images made available free of cost for HTML displays in websites, in Yahoo! 360° profiles and in the Yahoo! Messenger chatting software. Chiefly a promotional service that’s available for every account, the Avatar images are displayed without any user input in the instant messenger window, into the 360° member page, and into group member listings. § Open the Avatars page from the main Messenger page; clicking on the yellow smiley emoticon next to the username shall open the link Create My Yahoo! Avatar.

§ For creating the Avatar profile, the instructions from the basic setup wizard shall help to proceed further.

§ The tabs at the top of the page for everything from Apparel to Backgrounds shall allow one to complete the creation. Yahoo! Avatar and Messenger: Yahoo! Messenger, the popular instant messaging client and protocol from Yahoo! that took the world by storm also allows displaying the Avatar. The entente between the Yahoo! Avatar and the Messenger requires right clicking on the Avatar in the IM window and checking or unchecking the Share Display Image option. That way, only the desired people become eligible to view the Avatar. Additionally, there are several other websites that allow the users to create Avatars as per their preferences and display them into the main Messenger window.
